Spring break is in the books, and spring sports are back in action. Here is an updated look at where our teams stand:

Girls' Lacrosse

The girls' lacrosse team only played one game last week, and it was a home loss against Pine-Richland. As a result, the team is still in search of its first section win this season and carries an overall record of 5-7.

Boys' Lacrosse

Boys' lacrosse broke through for its first section win last week when it defeated Butler 10-9. The boys now sit at 1-2 in the section with three section games remaining.

Baseball

The varsity baseball team played a three-game series with Seneca Valley last week and went 1-2. With a 3-6 section record on the season, the boys are currently in fourth place.

Softball

Coming out of the break, the varsity softball team is on a three-game winning streak with victories over Penn Hills, New Castle, and Mars. The girls have moved into a tie for second place in the section as a result and own an overall record of 11-3.

Track & Field

Varsity track and field competed in the Butler Invite last week. Top-ten finishers for North Hills included the girls' 4X800M relay (4th place), Kayden Lightner (800M, 1st), Gama Mogire (110M hurdles, 4th), the boys' 4X400M relay (6th), the boys' 4X800M relay (3rd), Alex Walker (high jump, 9th), Logan Ilnicki (discuss, 9th/javelin, 9th), and Jack Martin (javelin, 7th).

Boys' Volleyball

Boys' volleyball is coming out of the break with three wins in the last four matches. With a 4-1 section record, the boys remain in a tie for first place.

Boys' Tennis

The boys' tennis team played its lone match last week against Mars, then sent two doubles pairs to the section doubles tournament to represent North Hills.
