PSAT/NMSQT to be administered at North Hills October 26
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will be offered to North Hills students in grades 10 and 11 each fall.
The PSAT/NMSQT measures critical reading skills, math problem-solving skills and writing skills, and is a great tool for students considering college. North Hills High School offers the PSAT/NMSQT to allow students to receive feedback about strengths and weaknesses, enter the competition for National Merit Scholar scholarships (Grade 11) and to help prepare for the SAT.
North Hills will administer the PSAT/NMSQT on Saturday, Oct. 26. Students must register online by Monday, Sept. 16 at 11 p.m.
The cost of the exam is $30. There is a $12 discount for any eleventh grade student who qualifies for free or reduced lunch.
To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Students should use their NHSD Gmail account for registration. Registration is not complete until payment is submitted and students have printed or saved the PDF of the confirmation page provided at the end. Register here.
On the test day, test takers will be responsible for their own transportation. Additional information regarding test day procedures and schedules will be provided to registered students via email closer to the test date.
Additional information including test day instructions and regulations will be emailed to all registered students.
Please contact Dr. Meghan Watelet at wateletm@nhsd.net if you have questions or require additional financial assistance.
Gifted & Talented Students
Grade 9 GATE students will also have the opportunity to test on October 26. These students should NOT follow the same registration process outlined above to register for the PSAT 8/9. More information about this specific test will be forthcoming from the GATE teachers.
