The North Hills High School Wind Ensemble performed at the 2026 PMEA Annual In-Service Conference on April 23 at the Kalahari Resort & Convention Center in the Poconos.

The conference is the association's largest professional development event of the year, and schools are eligible to perform at PMEA's annual conference only once every two years. Selection is considered the highest honor a school music program can achieve in Pennsylvania and comparable to winning a state championship in athletics.

Over the past decade, North Hills has been selected every year it has been eligible, making this year’s performance the district’s sixth appearance since 2014.

Two years ago, in 2024, North Hills’ Low Brass Ensemble was chosen from more than 70 applicants as the featured performer at the event, which was held in Erie.

The North Hills High School Wind Ensemble is made up of 47 students in grades 9-12 and is one of four concert bands that rehearse daily at North Hills High School.
