Double Bubble SkillsUSA pin

North Hills High School senior Rowan Ashmore is one of three finalists in SkillsUSA Pennsylvania’s trading pin contest.

Each year, SkillsUSA Pennsylvania asks students to submit a design to become its next state pin. State pins are collected and used for trading at the national SkillsUSA competition.

Rowan’s “Double Bubble” is the first-ever gum design and was chosen as one of three finalists from 49 entries across the state.

Voting for the winner is open to the public on SkillsUSA Pennsylvania’s Facebook page through Feb. 3. Vote by liking her design on this post.

Rowan attends A.W. Beattie Career Center’s Advertising Design program.

SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization with local and state chapters that partner with career and technical education centers like Beattie to help prepare students for careers in trade, technical and skilled service fields.

The annual SkillsUSA competition is a series of events where students showcase their skills through hands-on challenges in various fields. North Hills students who attend Beattie participate each year.
