North Hills welcomed three dozen businesses and organizations to the high school on Friday, April 25 for its 2nd Annual Community Connections Fair, an event designed to expose students to a broad range of career paths and professional opportunities.

Held in the high school’s gym, the fair gave students a unique opportunity to meet with professionals from a variety of industries, including healthcare, media, finance, public safety, skilled trades, the military, and more. Representatives from local businesses, unions, colleges, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies were on hand to speak with students, answer questions, and share insights about their fields.

The event was not a traditional job fair. Instead, it focused on career awareness and exploration, helping students begin to think about their futures — whether through college, trade schools, military service, or direct entry into the workforce.

North Hills High School students attended the fair by grade level during the morning, allowing every student the chance to engage with presenters and gather information relevant to their interests and goals.

“We’re incredibly thankful to all the businesses and organizations that participated," said Evan King, transition coordinator at high school who helped organize the event. "Events like this help our students build connections, gain exposure to real-world opportunities, and feel more confident about their futures.”

With increased participation this year, the school hopes to continue expanding the Community Connections Fair in the future and further strengthen partnerships between education and the community.

A signup for businesses and organizations interested in participating in the next Community Connections Fair will be shared early next year.
