The North Hills School District Board of Education is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the school director seat left vacant by the passing of Dr. Anthony Hall.

Applications will be accepted July 1 through July 8 at 3:00 p.m.

Interested individuals must complete this application and submit it in-person to the Office of Superintendent Dr. Patrick Mannarino at the North Hills Administration Center, located at 135 Sixth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15229 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

A special public meeting will be held on Monday, July 13 at 6 p.m. at which the board will conduct interviews, deliberate, and fill the vacancy. The meeting will be held in the North Hills Middle School LGI room and is open to the public.

All candidates will be asked the same set of questions and will be interviewed in the order in which applications are received. A majority vote of the remaining board members is required to fill a vacancy. The vacancy must be filled by July 17, 2026. If the vacancy is not filled by then, the court may appoint someone.

There will be a public comment period at the start of the meeting, as there is at all public school board meetings.

The candidate selected on July 13 will be sworn in the following day, July 14, and will serve through December 7, 2027.

The seat will appear on the 2027 school board election ballot, with the successful candidate serving the remaining two years of Dr. Hall's original term through December 2029. To return the seat to its regular election cycle, it will appear on the 2029 ballot for a full four-year term beginning in December 2029.
