The first week of September is in the books, and the teams at North Hills are enjoying an exciting start to the fall sports season. Here's a look at how each team has performed so far:

Girls' Soccer

After defeating Armstrong and Hempfield by a combined score of 5-1 to start the season, the girls' soccer team lost two games last week to bring its record to 2-2 on the season.

The JV and middle school teams joined the varsity team at Martorelli Stadium on Saturday to play in SoccerFest. The middle school team enjoyed a big win, while the JV team lost a tightly-contested 1-0 game.

Boys' Soccer

The boys' soccer team was undefeated last week, posting a 2-0-1 record that featured a tie against North Allegheny and an overtime win at SoccerFest over Deer Lakes. The boys now have a 5-1-1 overall record.

SoccerFest also included a 4-0 win for the JV boys, as well as a draw and a tight loss for the boys' middle school teams.

Girls' Tennis

The girls' tennis team went 2-0 last week, extending its winning streak to four matches. On the season, the girls own a 7-1 overall record and have outscored their opponents 29-6 in their victories. In section play, the team has a 4-1 record, which is good for third place.

Golf

The varsity golf team has been hovering around .500 so far in 2025, earning section wins over Ambridge and Highlands in the process. This week features three more important section matchups.

Cross Country

The varsity cross country teams ran in the Red, White, and Blue Invitational over the weekend. The boys finished ninth out of 34 teams, while the girls finished 16th out of 27. Top finishers for the varsity teams were Jackson Hill and Kayla Flanigan.

Girls' Volleyball

Girls' volleyball is coming off a strong week that saw the team win matches over Bethel Park and Mt. Lebanon, then win the Silver Bracket at the Shaler Tournament. The girls will look to carry that momentum into three matches this week.

Football

Varsity football lost a thrilling 13-10 game at home against Mars last Friday to fall to 0-3 on the season. The Indians will look for their first win of the campaign this week when they open section play at home against Pine-Richland.
