Community helps 'Stuff the Bus' with school supplies for North Hills students

The North Hills community came together in a big way on Wednesday, Aug. 5, helping fill an ABC Transit school bus with school supplies for North Hills School District students and families.

The annual “Stuff the Bus” School Supply Collection, hosted by The Block Northway, invited community members to donate backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons, markers, folders, lunch boxes and other essentials to help students start the 2026-27 school year prepared for success.

Throughout the three-hour event, donations poured in from families, community members and local supporters. North Hills cheerleaders also joined the fun, bringing plenty of school spirit as they cheered on donors and shoppers.

The district extends its sincere thanks to everyone who donated, The Block Northway for once again hosting and supporting the event, and ABC Transit for providing the school bus used to collect the supplies.

On Thursday morning, the donated supplies were sorted and distributed among all six North Hills schools, where they will be available to support students and families in need throughout the school year.

The generosity shown through “Stuff the Bus” is another example of the North Hills community coming together to support its students. Thank you, North Hills!
