Calendar change approved; North Hills students to attend school Feb. 16

Important Calendar Update

The North Hills School District Board of Education has approved an important calendar update that will affect families later this month.

Students in all six North Hills schools will now attend school in person on Monday, Feb. 16 (Presidents’ Day). This date was previously scheduled as an Act 80 professional development day for teachers and a day off for students.

The change was made to make up for the snow day observed on Tuesday, Dec. 2. By using Feb. 16 as the make-up day, the district is able to preserve the full, week-long spring break as originally planned. There will be no school Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3.

Please note the following details:

  • A.W. Beattie Career Center students will not have classes at Beattie on Feb. 16 and should report to the high school in time for fifth period.
  • Elementary parent-teacher conferences and kindergarten registration appointments scheduled on Feb. 16 will be adjusted as needed. Communication will come directly from your child’s school.
  • The district’s annual job fair on Feb. 16 will now begin at 3:30 p.m. instead of 3 p.m.

Families are encouraged to review the updated district calendar and make note of this important change.
