It was a lucky day for staff at North Hills High School as the beloved Brew Crew spread some St. Patrick’s Day cheer on Friday! Decked out in festive green, the student-run coffee delivery team brought warm beverages and big smiles to teachers and staff members, embracing the holiday spirit while honing valuable life skills.

The Brew Crew, established in 2020, has become a staple of the school community, operating most Fridays to provide fresh coffee to faculty. More than just a caffeine boost, the program serves as a hands-on learning experience for students, helping them develop essential social skills, money management, work ethic, self-advocacy, soft skills, and entrepreneurship.

“This program is an incredible way for students to gain real-world experience while making meaningful connections within our school,” said Evan King, who helps oversee the initiative. “It’s amazing to see their confidence grow as they take orders, manage transactions, and interact with staff.”

With each order they deliver, Brew Crew members build practical skills that will serve them beyond the classroom.

Friday’s coffee run was extra special, as the team embraced the St. Patrick’s Day theme with festive attire and a little extra joy in their deliveries. Teachers and staff were grateful for both the delicious drinks and the uplifting energy the Brew Crew brought to the end of the week.

As the Brew Crew continues to thrive, it remains a shining example of how schools can blend education with real-world application, empowering students to develop lifelong skills while giving back to their community—one cup of coffee at a time.
