Two tremendous spring seasons came to an end on Tuesday, as the boys' volleyball team and the girls' lacrosse team lost their first-round playoff matchups.

For the boys' volleyball team, Tuesday's match was at home after the boys won the first section championship in program history this season. They entered the postseason as the five-seed, while their opponent, Mt. Lebanon, came in as the 12-seed.

Mt. Lebanon won the first set before North Hills claimed the second. The third and fourth sets both went to the Blue Devils, making the final score 3-1. Despite a great effort from the Indians, which saw all four sets decided by three points or fewer, the boys' volleyball season has come to a close.

Meanwhile, the girls' lacrosse team hit the road to play Bethel Park. North Hills, the 10-seed, took on the seven-seeded Black Hawks. It was the program's third playoff appearance in the last four seasons.

The game was close throughout the first half, with Bethel Park leading by two after one quarter and three at halftime. But they pulled away in the second half to secure a 15-6 victory over the Indians.

While we hoped both teams would make a deeper run in the playoffs, both programs should be celebrated for their accomplishments this spring.

Congratulations to the boys' volleyball team and the girls' lacrosse team on incredible seasons!
