Boys' basketball to face Butler in WPIAL first round

Boys' basketball to face Butler in WPIAL first round
Matthew McGinnis

The boys' basketball team is set to make its fourth consecutive playoff appearance, and it'll face a familiar opponent in round one.

The WPIAL basketball brackets were released on Monday, and North Hills was awarded the 10-seed in the 6A tournament. That draw will send the Indians to Butler to face the Golden Tornado, a team they played twice in the 2025 regular season.

North Hills took the first matchup between the teams 69-65 before falling in the rematch 39-51. The team that played at home won each matchup this season.

The first-round tilt between North Hills and Butler will be played on Monday, February 17, at Butler. Tip-off is set for 7:00. As this game is a WPIAL event, tickets will be $5 for students and $7 for adults if purchased in advance via GoFan. All tickets at the door will be $7.
