North Hills High School hosted its 4th Annual Instant Decision Day on Thursday, Oct. 23, an exciting event designed to streamline the college admissions process and give seniors a firsthand look at their post-graduation options.

During Instant Decision Day, participating seniors had the opportunity to interview with college admissions representatives, submit applications, and, in many cases, receive admissions decisions on the spot. This year's event welcomed representatives from eight local institutions: Carlow University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, La Roche University, PennWest (Cal U, Clarion and Edinboro), Point Park University, Robert Morris University, Slippery Rock University, and Washington & Jefferson College.

And the results speak for themselves.

  • 73 seniors participated, more than 20% of the Class of 2026
  • 8 colleges and universities represented
  • 178 interviews conducted
  • 150 instant admission offers

Students not only walked away with acceptance letters but, for some, life-changing financial support.

Three institutions offered merit scholarships during their interviews, awarding a combined $553,000 to North Hills students:

  • Carlow University: $169,000
  • Point Park University: $300,000
  • Washington & Jefferson College: $84,000

Instant Decision Day continues to be an empowering and exciting milestone for seniors as they explore future pathways. North Hills High School is proud to support its students in taking these meaningful next steps and grateful to the participating colleges and universities for helping make the day a resounding success.
