Met Opera HD Live in Schools

Met Opera's HD in Schools program

North Hills School District is one of only three Pennsylvania districts selected to participate in the Metropolitan Opera's HD Live in Schools program. The program exists to enable students around the world to begin and continue a lifelong love of opera!

Students can attend live broadcasts of Metropolitan Opera performances at the Cinemark North Hills in McCandless Crossing for just $2.00.

On select Saturdays, we also present special indoor Opera Picnics in the North Hills Middle School LGI room. Bring a blanket, bring your lunch, and enjoy the show along with pre-opera activities!

As an additional part of the program, the Met also provides teachers with special interdisciplinary lessons and activities. North Hills students can access the Met On Demand Channel for free.

Upcoming event dates and details are posted on Facebook and shared in Google Classroom. Students and staff should use code 463tlmy to join the Google Classroom for the 2024-25 school year.

The program is facilitated by NHSD retired teachers Martin Richter and John Thomas. Questions can be directed to Mr. Richter at richterm@staff.nhsd.net.
