Annette Lois Giovengo Music Scholarship

 Dr. Annette Giovengo

The Annette Lois Giovengo Music Scholarship is a $500 award for a graduating senior from North Hills High School who demonstrates excellence academically while participating in the symphony orchestra, reflecting the balance of scholarship and musical achievement that Annette Giovengo exemplified.

Annette graduated from North Hills High School in 1979 and went on to earn her B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, where she also played violin in multiple ensembles. Music remained a lifelong passion, and she continued performing in community orchestras while making significant contributions as a leader and advocate for the North Hills School District. Annette served as president of the North Hills Instrumental Parents Association and completed two terms on the North Hills School District Board of Education, consistently supporting strong academic and arts programs.

This scholarship is generously supported by Annette’s husband Kevin and son Andrew through the North Hills Foundation and recognizes students who mirror her dedication to both academics and music.

Eligibility:

  • Participation in the North Hills High School symphony orchestra
  • Successful audition for a PMEA district or regional orchestra at least once, or admission into a college program that required an audition
  • Completion of at least one AP course with a grade of B or higher

This scholarship celebrates students who combine academic achievement with musical commitment, honoring the legacy of Annette Giovengo’s lifelong dedication to both.

Deadline: April 24, 2026 (April 15 in future years)
