Advanced Placement

The Advanced Placement (AP) program is a nationally recognized, rigorous curriculum sponsored by the College Board. The program provides an opportunity for high school students to choose college-level courses and receive undergraduate college credits or advanced standing, if their AP exam scores qualify.

More than 90 percent of colleges in the United States give credit or provide advanced standing to students whose AP exam scores are within a specified range. AP students may be required to take the AP exam in May and students seeking to receive AP accreditation must take the exam.

Registration for AP exams occurs online each fall.

Students choosing not to take the AP exam will still be responsible for completing all required coursework. Please reach out to your child's AP teacher with any questions.
