About Project Connect

Project Connect is the North Hills School District’s 1:1 iPad initiative, putting iPads in the hands of our students, allowing us to embed project-based learning throughout the curriculum and utilize technology as a tool for personalizing instruction for every child, every day.

The program has grown every year since its inception in 2016, and for the 2020-21 school year, all students in grades K-12 will receive an iPad.

Project Connect is part of NHSD's multi-year Innovations in Education Plan, which also includes improvements to the district’s network infrastructure and wireless internet.

2020-21 Distribution

All students enrolled in the North Hills School District and the Online Academy at North Hills were issued a new seventh generation iPad for the 2020-21 school year.

To receive an iPad, ALL students and parent/guardians must:

  1. Complete and submit this form acknowledging acceptance of the Student iPad Use and Loan Agreement, the district’s Network Acceptable Use Policy and Children's Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) if the student is under age 13.
  2. Enroll the iPad onlinewith One2One Risk Solutions and either accept or decline insurance for the device. The process above must be completed for each iPad. You will need a participate or ID number to complete enrollment.
    • FOR ONLINE ACADEMY STUDENTS, this number is the student's Network Username followed by A student's username is the their last name followed by their first initial and last two digits of their graduation year, i.e. [email protected]
    • FOR ALL OTHER STUDENTS, this number is the student’s ID number.

Both the student's ID number and Network Username can be found in the parent's PowerSchool account under the "School Information" tab as shown in the screenshot below. Please note: You must log into PowerSchool from a web browser as this information is not accessible in the PowerSchool app. Click here for information on accessing PowerSchool.

iPad insurance costs $35 per device per year. Discounts are pre-applied in One2One Risk Solutions to students who qualify for free/reduced lunch.

After completing enrollment, you will receive a confirmation email with your registration certificate from [email protected]

Insurance Information

All student devices should be enrolled online with One2One Risk Solutions. After enrollment, you can choose to either accept or decline iPad insurance.

This form must be completed and submitted to the building principal when a student's district iPad is lost or damaged.
