Allison Mathis, President

Allison Mathis

Allison "Ali" Mathis joined the North Hills School District Board of Education in 2017 and has served as President since December of 2019.

A former PTO president, Mrs. Mathis is an active parent volunteer who is passionate about public service, education, and sustainability. She was also recently elected to serve as the president elect of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association.

Mrs. Mathis is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and her professional background is in Communications and Project Management. She currently works as Client Services Manager at a local brand and communications agency.

She and her husband Clayton have two children, Colter and Sydney, who are students at North Hills High School.

Helen Spade, Vice President

Helen "Dee" Spade

Helen "Dee" Spade has lived in the North Hills School District for 50 years and has been a member of the North Hills School District Board of Education since 2015.

Mrs. Spade worked in North Hills’ Facilities Department for 40 years, served as an officer of the SEIU Union for many years, and continues to serve as a member of the Allegheny County Schools Health Insurance Consortium. She has also served as a member of the A.W. Beattie Career Center Joint Operating Committee for the last several years.

Her two sons, Willy and Sam, graduated from North Hills High School in the 1980s (1982 and 1987) and she and her husband of more than 55 years owned a local catering business.

Mrs. Spade has served as school board Vice President since 2018.

Samantha Ellwood

Samantha Ellwood

Samantha Ellwood was elected to the North Hills School District Board of Education in November 2023.

Samantha is a lifelong North Hills resident and a North Hills High School graduate. She has a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and a master's degree in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum from Drexel University.

Mrs. Ellwood has spent her entire career working in education and human service nonprofits. She is passionate about fostering community partnerships to strengthen available resources.

She enjoys spending time with her family, which usually means being at a soccer field or hockey dek.

Mrs. Ellwood and her husband, Travis, live in Ross Township with their two sons. Parker is a North Hills Middle School student and Conner attends Highcliff Elementary.

Sandra Kozera

Sandra Kozera

Sandra "Sandy" Kozera has served on the North Hills School District Board of Education since 2017.

Ms. Kozera grew up in North Hills and graduated from North Hills High School. She is also a graduate of The College of Wooster in Ohio and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.

Ms. Kozera enjoys reading, travel, and supporting the arts.

She and her husband Ben have two daughters, Elena and Zoe, who attend the North Hills Middle School and Ross Elementary respectively. Both girls play softball and Ms. Kozera spends much of her free time at games cheering them on.

Phil Little

Phil Little

Phil Little was elected to the North Hills School District Board of Education in November 2019.

A former teacher, Mr. Little currently works as a community and government affairs liaison for the Pennsylvania Attorney General. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. He is a champion for charter school funding reform and seeks to be a change-maker.

Mr. Little lives in Ross Township with his wife Tara and their three sons, Teddy, Gus and Charlie. Teddy and Gus attend Highcliff Elementary School and Charlie will be joining them in a few years.

Elizabeth Nease

Elizabeth Nease

Elizabeth Nease was elected to the North Hills School District Board of Education in November 2021.

She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is certified in Elementary Education.

Mrs. Nease enjoys spending time giving back to the community. She is an active volunteer at Highcliff Elementary School and for many different organizations throughout the North Hills community.

She is a lifelong resident of Ross Township, a North Hills graduate and now enjoys watching her children participate in many of the same activities she did during her time at North Hills.

Mrs. Nease and her husband Ryan have three daughters in the North Hills School District, Julia, Adalyn and Riley.

Rachael Rennebeck

Rachael Rennebeck

Rachael Rennebeck was elected to the North Hills School District Board of Education in November 2019.

She earned her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh with focus in Journalism. She is a partner of Ya Jagoff Media, LLC., a Pittsburgh-centric media company encompassing public relations and community relations, marketing, social media, original content creation and media production for digital, podcast and radio.

She has been a resident of Ross Township for over 20 years and is active on multiple non-profit and community boards including the Community Liver Alliance, 412Thrive and the Pittsburgh Media Partnership.

Mrs. Rennebeck and her husband Wil have three children: Roman, a 2021 North Hills graduate, and Domenic and Adeline who are students at North Hills High School.

Michael Santucci

Mike Santucci

Michael Santucci was elected to the North Hills School District Board of Education in November 2021.

A lifelong resident of Ross Township, Mr. Santucci is a North Hills graduate. He earned his bachelor’s degree from California University of Pennsylvania and teaches technology education at Highlands High School. He is passionate about education and a supporter of the technical and skilled trades.

Mr. Santucci finds fulfillment in woodworking, loves being outdoors and enjoys spending time at camp with his family.

He and his wife Sandy have two daughters, Meadow and Daphne who attend the North Hills Middle School and McIntyre Elementary School respectively.

Ashley Stephens

Ashley Stephens

Ashley Stephens was elected to the North Hills School District Board of Education in November 2023.

Mrs. Stephens is the Managing Director of a national telehealth firm and serves on the Center for Telehealth and eHealth Law advisory board. She is an advocate for breaking down barriers to access and creating future-forward opportunities.

Mrs. Stephens holds a bachelor's degree in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a master's degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of Pittsburgh.

She resides in Ross Township with her husband Mike and two sons Patrick and Maximilian. Patrick is a student at North Hills High School and Max attends McIntyre Elementary. Both are heavily involved in a variety of sports and extracurricular activities.

In her spare time, Ashley chauffeurs her children to the previously mentioned sports and activities, illustrates jokes on snack bags, reads voraciously, and attempts to fit in a good workout.
