Join Hands for Service Club and Student Council members in
North Hills High School’s third annual Jake Wudarczyk Monster Dash 5K and
Spooky Stroll on Oct. 27 at North Park Boathouse. All proceeds will benefit the
local chapter of Make-A-Wish and the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
Foundation. The race is named in honor of Jake, a NHSD Class of 2018 member and
Make-A-Wish recipient who lost his battle with cancer.Attendees are encouraged to dress up in their favorite
Halloween costume and run or walk the 5K course at 9:30 a.m. There will be
winners in each group as well as a prize for best costume.
Children age 8 and under are invited to take a quarter-mile
Spooky Stroll at 10:30 a.m. with trick or treating along the stroll route and
also participate in pumpkin decorating.
Race check-in starts at 8:30 a.m. Individual registration is
$20 pregistration/$25 day of event for participants over age 8 and $10
preregistration/$15 day of event for kids age 8 and under. A family
registration for four immediate family members is $60 and $15 for each
additional person or $75 on the day of the event. Register online today! Make sure to
register by Oct. 19 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.
The Hands for Service Club and Student Council are comprised
of high school students interested in community service, promoting school
spirit and philanthropy. Over the last four years, members of these
organizations have raised more $40,000 for charitable organizations such as
Make-A-Wish, the Four Diamonds Fund and the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
Foundation.
