Fall Collage Concert with High School Ensembles

The high school music department will hold its first concert of the school year featuring instrumental and choral ensembles on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in the North Hills Middle School auditorium.  The collage concert features the wind ensemble, wind symphony, chamber strings, combined symphonic and women’s choirs and the North Hills Singers. It provides an opportunity for high school ensembles to collaborate on joint performances of pieces. The wind ensemble and combined choirs will present “Hymn to the Fallen” from the movie “Saving Private Ryan,” and the chamber strings will join forces with the choirs on a dramatic interpretation of a medieval poem in “Dark Night of the Soul” by Ola Gjeilo. Rounding out the performance will be a set by the Allegheny Brass Band, who regularly collaborates with the high school band program, providing a music scholarship each year to a North Hills student.
