Starting this month, North Hills Middle School students now can access quick Grab n’ Go breakfast options to start their school day the healthy way. Thanks to a new breakfast cart in the middle school lobby, student easily can snatch nutritious breakfast foods as they walk to their lockers and homerooms.
The cart boasts breakfast sandwiches, cheese sticks, muffins, fresh fruit, breakfast bars, milk, juice and more.
It’s available from 7:20 to 7:50 a.m. every day. Breakfast costs $1.50 and 30 cents for those eligible for reduced price meals.
The alternative school breakfast model was made possible due to generous funding from the Hillman Foundation administered by Allies for Children in partnership with Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
