North Hills School District will hold the fourth annual
districtwide book fair to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital Foundation
and support the district’s libraries and literacy programs. The fair will be
held at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in the Waterworks Mall from 1 to 4 p.m.
on Dec. 3. The all ages, family-friendly event will include live entertainment from North Hills choral, guitar and orchestral ensembles with a special appearance by North Hills alum Chris Jamison, a poetry reading by High School English teacher Mark Franks and a meet and greet with local authors Jonathan Auxier, Josh Bellin, Sharon Flake, Dorit Sasson, S. Alex Martin, Stephanie Keyes, Dana Faletti, Siobhan Vivian, Carrie Ann DiRisio, Leah Pileggi and Ellen Roth.
During the event, a percentage of each sale made with a special voucher will be donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Attendees also can purchase books from an in-store display that will be given to the North Hills libraries to enhance the district’s literary collections.
Vouchers are available on the district website and at all
district buildings. Additionally, those who cannot attend the fair may shop
online from Dec. 3 to 7 at www.bn.com/bookfairs.
The book fair voucher identification number of 12178786 must be entered on the
payment page during online checkout for purchases to be credited to the cause.
The event is orchestrated by high school English teacher Carmen Washington.
