Highcliff Elementary School families supported U.S. troops through
the local non-profit Boucek’s Battalion. Students donated their extra Halloween
treats as part of the Treats for Troops drive to create care packages that will
be sent around the world by the North Hills-based charity.
On Nov. 2, first-grade students sorted 764.2 pounds of candy
and other snacks into boxes.
This is fourth year for the donation drive that is overseen
by first-grade teacher Maria Shevchik.
