North Hills Accepting 2018-19 Free and Reduced Meals Applications
Photo of School Lunch

Children need healthy meals in order to be successful in the classroom. North Hills School District offers nutritious breakfast and lunch options every school day.

Breakfast costs $1.50 and lunch costs $2.50. Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced price is 30 cents for breakfast and 40 cents for lunch. Those eligible for free meals may receive breakfast in addition to lunch.

The packet attached below includes an application for free and reduced price meal benefits, a set of detailed instructions to help you with your application process, a chart that breaks down eligible incomes related to household sizes and answers to frequently asked questions.

Parents may apply online at www.compass.state.pa.us. Completing an online application takes only a few minutes and results in faster processing than previous paper applications as information is submitted directly to the child nutrition office for processing in a confidential manner.

If your child received free or reduced meal benefits in the 2017-18 school year, that benefit will be held until Sept. 24. An application must be completed each school year to ensure your student’s eligibility for free and reduced meals unless you are otherwise notified by NHSD that your child is directly certified to receive free meal benefits. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and may be submitted at any time during the school year.
