Congratulations to junior Elena McGoey on being named a Most Outstanding Volunteer of the Year finalist in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Jefferson Awards!
Elena devotes hundreds of hours to local organizations, working with animals and people with disabilities. During the summer, she volunteers at Glade Run Adventures in Zelienople, which connects children with autism and
behavioral challenges with therapeutic animals and the outdoors, according to
the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Since 2013, she has volunteered more than 450
hours for the organization.
