Grade 3 Instrument Demonstration Night Slated for April 30
North Hills School District third-grade students and their parents are invited to attend Instrument Demonstration Night on April 30 at 7 p.m. in the middle school auditorium. This event is an informational meeting for students and parents interested in beginning instrumental music study in fourth-grade during the 2018-19 school year.  The evening includes demonstrations of all string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments offered in the North Hills elementary music program, an overview of the elementary instrumental programs and a question and answer session.

Following the demonstration night meeting, attendees will have an opportunity to schedule a “fitting” session with their child at the student’s elementary school later that week. At the fitting session, students will have the opportunity to try out several instruments to best match physical fit, musical fit and interest. Please note attendance at Demonstration Night is encouraged, but is not a requisite of participation in the subsequent fitting sessions or participation in Grade 4. All interested third-grade students will have opportunity to try instruments at their individual school.

The schedule for instrument fittings at individual schools is as follows:

  • West View Elementary – Tuesday, May 1 - 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. and 1 to 2:45 p.m.
  • Highcliff Elementary – Wednesday, May 2 - 8:45 to 11:45 a.m. and 1 to 2:45 p.m.
  • Ross Elementary – Thursday, May 3 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 to 3:30 p.m.
  • McIntyre Elementary – Friday, May 4 - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:15 to 3:30 p.m.

We invite you and your child to take advantage of this opportunity to join an instrumental program that is nationally renowned for its excellence.
