Grade 5 & 6 Parents! Sign Up Today for NHSD’s New Online Spanish Course

North Hills School District is offering an online exploratory Spanish course for students in Grades 5 and 6 from August 27 to Jan. 11.
 
The course will cover basic grammar, conversational skills, cultural information and pronunciation, and it will be taught by a NHSD Spanish teacher. This coursework will be completed outside of the school day. Students will be able to work at their own pace. 
 
Register online by August 13 for this unique language opportunity.
 
The registration fee is $110 per student, and payment is due by August 20.

We've put together a list of a few commonly asked questions to help you learn more about this new course. 

 

Q: Do students have to be online at specific times?

A: No, the course is completely asynchronous, so students can work at their own pace. 

 

Q: What materials are needed for the course?

A: The following materials will be needed for the course:

  • File Box 
  • Markers, colored pencils, or crayons available for illustrating vocabulary 
  • Have a 1-½ " binder for your Spanish materials only. The binder needs to be divided into the following sections:
    • pace charts
    • vocabulary
    • structures
    • assignments

 

Q: What are the technological requirements for the course?

A: Students will need access to an email account and a computer with a microphone headset (USB is preferred.) The computer should have the following specifications:
