North Hills High School will present a showcase of how are students are remaking their education for a new generation of learners as part of the region’s Remake Learning Days on May 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Classrooms in our Technology Education Department will be open for guests to see a variety of project-based learning lessons ranging in subject areas from robotics and engineering to welding and 3D gaming.

In the high school library, several departments will come together to display an amusement park based on the central theme of biology where rides will be designed on a cell part analogy. This project is a collaboration between the students enrolled in physics, biology, technology education, business and graphics design. The model of the park will include roller coasters and other amusement rides, and a business plan for marketing and managing the park along. Sample park merchandise also will be on display.

Remake Learning Days are an annual regional celebration slated for May 17 to 25 offering hundreds of hands-on and engaging educational activities and experiences for children and their families, caregivers and educators in greater Pittsburgh, West Virginia and beyond. The celebration showcases everything that makes the greater Pittsburgh and West Virginia region a recognized national leader in innovative teaching and learning.
