North Hills School District Board of Education members approved the district’s 2017-18 final budget during their June 8 legislative meeting. With expenditures totaling $79,193,692, the budget allows North Hills to continue to provide quality educational programs and facilities for district students. The budget has revenues of $77,896,299 and will be balanced with a $1,297,393 transfer from the district’s fund balance that was specifically set aside to counteract state-mandated increases in pension contributions. [ for more]

North Hills School District Class of 2010 graduate and United States Air Force Staff Sergeant Cory Yost was selected as the Air Education and Training Command’s (AETC) Force Support Airman of the Year for 2016. Commencement exercises for the Class of 2017 were held on May 26 at Martorelli Stadium. Class members earned in excess of $4.2 million in scholarship awards, setting a North Hills record by more than $600,000. Nearly 40 percent of the Class of 2017 graduated with a QPA of 3.5 or higher. Student speakers for the ceremony were Hannah Ashoff, Allina Molinaro, Anna McConnell and David Reith. [ for more]
