North Hills School District operates a full-day kindergarten program in each of its four elementary schools - Highcliff, McIntyre, Ross and West View.

Please note that per School Board Policy 205, children who are not registered to attend school by June 1 may be assigned to a district school building outside of their attendance area. Therefore, the district strongly recommends that 2018-19 kindergarten students be registered on the March 28 or April 5 enrollment dates.

How and When to Register

Kindergarten registration for the 2018-19 school year will be held on March 28 from 12 to 3:45 p.m. and April 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. in all elementary buildings.

Appointments are required for March 28 kindergarten registration and can be scheduled online by clicking here. Please register as a new user in the upper right hand corner of the site, then click on the gray “View KG Registration” button to select an appointment time.

Please contact your child's school at the numbers listd above to schedule an April 5 appointment during our special evening hours.

Kindergarten registration packets are available in all district buildings. Packets also may be downloaded from the district’s website at the top of this page and via the district app.

The packets provide necessary forms as well as information regarding required documents – such as proofs of residency and health immunizations – for kindergarten entrance. All incoming kindergarten families must bring a completed registration packet and necessary documentation outlined in the packet for their registration appointment.

Students registering for kindergarten must be five years of age before Sept. 1, 2018, to be enrolled for the 2018-19 school year. Registration is limited to residents of the North Hills School District, which includes Ross Township and West View Borough.

West View and Highcliff Elementary students will attend classes from 8:30 to 3 p.m. daily, and McIntyre and Ross Elementary students will attend classes from 9:15 to 3:45 p.m. daily.

For more information regarding kindergarten, contact Dr. Jeff Taylor, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Assessment and Elementary Education at 412-318-1017 or email
