Heather Pelat is the Director of Communications for the North Hills School District.

She joined the district in May of 2019 after spending most of her career in the local television news industry.

For nearly a decade, Heather managed the website and social media at WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tennessee. Later, she worked for Media General, WKRN’s parent company, as senior content and social media manager, strategizing and sharing resources, guidelines and best practices with the company’s 48 stations.

More recently, she served as content marketing and social media manager for a Pittsburgh area technology integrator.

Heather grew up in eastern Pennsylvania but fell in love with Pittsburgh while attending college. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2005 with a dual degree in Communication and Business.

She lives in Ross Township with her husband and their two daughters.
